Discover a UNESCO World Heritage

Évora is a city to visit slowly. Our trip starts early and two hours later we are in the environs of Évora to make a very special visit to a set of monuments of the time of the Megalithic that will make us go back thousands of years. Then there is the town of Évora where we spend the rest of the day delighting in this true open-air museum. The points of interest are immense, but from this visit we highlight the GATE OF THE GIRALDO, the AQUEDUCT OF THE WATER OF THE SILVER, the ROMAN TEMPLE OF ÉVORA … and much more …To investigate the reason for classification as a World Heritage by UNESCO. In every street and square of your cobbled center there is a reason for interest.
Strolling in Évora is something that is done with the pleasure of discovery in mind. Not only of its monuments but also of other places as or more interesting that tell the history of Portugal. Letting ourselves be part of this story.

Évora was considered a UNESCO world heritage site in 1986. According to the organisation, Évora is a museum city whose roots date back to Roman times. The golden era was in the sixteenth century, when it was the residence of Portuguese kings. The white houses, the tiles and the balconies stand out in the details of the architecture. That is why Évora is the best example of a city at the height of Portuguese history after the destruction of Lisbon in the earthquake of 1755. Visiting Évora today can be an inspiration. In addition, UNESCO refers to the medieval walls and buildings as well as the cathedral, convents, palaces, churches and squares as reasons of strength to visit Évora. Come with us and see for yourself.
