The Algarve’s medieval charm can be found in its first capital: Silves!
Between walls, legends and landscapes, we go from the castle to the market, from the castle to the cathedral, always between tradition and culture.
The current capital of Orange is shrouded in legends and tales such as that of the Muslim princess who fell madly in love with the Christian warrior.
With one of the largest and most important medieval castles in the Algarve, Silves is a must-see.
A must-see, the castle, built under Arab rule, protected the city and allowed control of the region when it was conquered by King Sancho I and Count Afonso II from the Moors. Visit the imposing cathedral and the rich surrounding market.

On this tour we have the option of lunch in a traditional restaurant with a surcharge of 25€ (cash only) which must be handed to the driver at the start of the tour. You are welcome to chose another locations or bring your own dinner. Please me advise that you most respect the break time.
Visits inside the castle and cathedral are not included. The prices at the moment are: castle from €2.80 and cathedral €1.50
This tour takes place aboard an air-conditioned Mercedes Mini Van and driven by experienced drivers/tour guide, who will guarantee a safe and highly entertaining experience during your trip through the Algarve region.
Notes:
- Pick-up and drop-off at designated areas between Armação de Pera, Albufeira and Vilamoura.
- Baby seats and highchairs available free of charge.
- On tours where we have a meal option, customers can choose to have a traditional meal with us at an additional cost, which varies according to each tour, of €15 or €25 per person, paid in cash to the driver at the start of the tour. Customers can also choose another location or bring their own meal.
- If you choose to have a traditional lunch with us, you can request a vegetarian option in advance. Allergies and intolerances must be informed in advance.
- All our guests are fully insured.
- If the transport breaks down unexpectedly during the tour, we will not refund the money, we will give the client the opportunity to take the selected tour on another day.
- We reserve the right to reschedule the tour or suggest a different experience available that day if the minimum number required is not available.
